Putting airships to work

Airship Initiatives is in the business of increasing interest in airships and, more significantly, we are actively putting airships to work.

When it comes to lighter-than-air we know what we are talking about. We have been doing it for years through articles for magazines, newspapers and specialist journals, as well as several books on the subject. But it is more than just talk. We have considerable hands-on experience within the lighter-than-air business having flown in excess of 14,000 passengers both in the UK and overseas. In 2007 we extended this air adventure with Zeppelin Tours which makes it possible for people to go flying in airships.

We also provide an independent airship consultancy service with a range of international clients. Beyond that we aim to put airships to work in other ways. While we recognise that they are not the solution to all the world's transport needs, their particular flight characteristics and capabilities make them extremely well-suited to a range of specific roles. From heavy-lift airships for cargo or humanitarian aid, to smaller airships for tourism, aerial advertising, photography or filming work, or airborne surveillance and scientific and environmental missions or surveying endangered heritage sites.
