Journalism and publishing

For over twenty years John Christopher has combined his passion for aviation with his writing interests. With seven books published, he has also contributed to several others and has written countless articles on lighter-than-air for a wide range of publications.

He was editor of Aerostat, the journal of the British Balloon & Airship Club for twelve years from 1989-2001, editor of Airship, the journal of the Airship Association from 2002 – 2005, and the founder editor of Dirigible, the journal of the Airship Heritage Trust.

Both John (a BA Hons in Graphic Design) and Ute have a background in print design and production and together they have produced publications including Aerostat and Airship. When John was away flying in southeast Asia for six months Ute edited two editions of Airship, and they continue to work closely on all aspect of Airship Initiatives’ endeavours – from the airship flights to preparing airship project studies for clients, writing books and articles, to the Image Resource picture library.
